Calligraphy Workshop for Improvers
Join Jess at this workshop, focusing on developed and improving your own unique style of lettering, just in time for Christmas to create beautiful handwritten cards and tags.
I'm so excited to launch my first improvers Modern Calligraphy workshop focusing on developing your calligraphy to create your own style. We will practice letter forms, connections and flourishing, whilst also learning to use metallic ink for cards & tags.

More information on the Workshop
During this workshop you will learn how to develop your own style of calligraphy. The class is suitable for those who have dabbled in calligraphy and would like to develop their skill. If you've done one of my previous classes or practiced yourself, this could be the next step. We will look at various letterforms, ways of connecting letters and various flourishing ideas. I'll also be focusing on teaching with finite gold ink - an amazing gold ink which I use for all my wedding work. I'll show how effective this can be to use especially for writing tags and cards for Christmas. The class will include an introduction, a guidance through some worksheets and time to write on cards and tags. The class will be 2 hours long taught by calligrapher Jess (Boards By Jess) and workshop price includes the cost of your own kit.
Added Extras
Excitingly, there will also be an opportunity to shop cards, calligraphy inks and card stock to make more gift tags or place names after the workshop. Cash and card is accepted.
About Jess
Based in Deal, Kent - 'Boards By Jess' is a creative studio specialising in Calligraphy, hand-painted Signs and Illustration. Since 2018 I've been practising calligraphy and lettering, working with local businesses and couples to elevate events and spaces with my hand-painted/hand-written artwork. I’m proud to say I've created pieces for over 250 weddings and more than 100 businesses in and around the South East.

*This Class it suitable for those who may have a basic idea of calligraphy previously.
*Workshops are of 15 people maximum
*Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting ink on (incase of any accidents!)
*All resources will be provided, please just bring your friendly selves.
*This class is suitable for those 16 or over.

*This workshop is not a business workshop/teaching how to set up a calligraphy business.
